How to convince & persuade someone

It’s important to be able to influence people appropriately when a decision needs to be made. The problem is how to do this? People who are good at negotiating to tend to demonstrate mutual empathy & understanding, yet they still manage to convey their point. Below are some tips to achieve this:
- Be confident when proposing something to a person
- Outline the advantages & rationale for why they should approve/agree
- Be prepared to allow them time to ponder & any reasonable compromises
- Be open to feedback & revision of a plan
- Do your research & ensure that you’re accountable for any repercussions
